How cold-pressed juices can replace your supplements
Share
Most of the health-conscious among us can admit to spending tens - sometimes hundreds - of dollars on supplements. And whilst these big brands may try to sell us the health and wellbeing dream; are they really giving our bodies anything that good, old-fashioned cold-pressed fruits and veggies can’t provide us with? Here, we’ll look at some of the most popular beauty, health and wellbeing supplements out there, and see which of our Cleanse Kitchen juices may be able to supply the same nutrients, benefits and effects…
1. Vitamin C
You may have had your soluble vitamin C tablet this morning, but instead, you could’ve had a refreshing glass of Sunrise, Beet Chia, Cabala, Glow, Dawn Patrol, or pretty much any of our juices. As well as packing a huge punch of vitamin C, our juices are filled with extra vitamins and minerals that naturally occur in the fruit and veggies they contain. Let’s take a look at how below (p.s - we’re just scratching the surface here with summarising all the benefits of the juices listed).
Sunrise: Orange, Pineapple, Grapefruit, Ginger, Turmeric.
Orange, pineapple & grapefruit are packed full of vitamin C. Grapefruit also has detoxifying properties for the liver; pineapple contains bromelain which can ease joint aches; and ginger and turmeric are immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory.
Beet Chia: Apple, Beetroot, Lemon, Ginger, Mint, Chia Seeds
Beetroots contain not only high levels of vitamin C, but also folate (vitamin B9), manganese, potassium and iron. Apple and lemon are also super high in vitamin C and have added anti-oxidising benefits, whilst chia seeds are good for the heart, ginger is anti-inflammatory and mint has a calming and soothing effect.
Glow: Watermelon, Red Apple, Cucumber, Lime, Ginger
Hello watermelon, red apple, cucumber and lime for big vitamin C benefits. In addition to this, watermelon and cucumber are super hydrating for glowy skin; red apples and limes are packed with antioxidants; and ginger can aid your digestive system and boost immunity.
Dawn Patrol: Orange, Carrots, Ginger, Turmeric
Vitamin C is heavy in the orange and carrots here. In addition to this, beta-carotene is great for healthy eyesight. This powerful combo of orange, carrots, ginger and turmeric complement each other by offering a far more effective powerhouse of immunity-boosting properties than just vitamin C supplements alone.
Ginger Snap: Apple, Lemon, Ginger, Coconut Water
Apple & lemons: hello vitamin C. The combination of lemon and ginger is also excellent for your immune system when cold and flu season approaches. Potassium-rich coconut water also keeps you hydrated and your heart healthy.
Cabala: Carrot, Green Apples, Red Apples, Lemon, Beet
The combination of carrots, green and red apples and lemon is the vitamin C hit that aids your immune system, with added beetroot for improving exercise stamina, preventing illness and lowering blood pressure.
2. Iron
Iron deficiency is a common problem, and our juices have not bypassed this fact. Some of the best Cleanse Kitchen juices that contain folate-rich wholefoods are the following:
Burleigh Green: Kale, Spinach, Celery, Cucumber, Lettuce, Parsley, Mint

Cashews, dates and chia seeds will contribute towards iron intake, and this juice is also packed full of healthy fats, magnesium, and vitamin B6 to enhance cognitive function. Bananas make your body produce 5-HTP, the compound that makes serotonin and melatonin, which are mood and sleep-regulating neurotransmitters. Here you have folate - and happiness - bottled.
3. Calcium and premenstrual symptom relief
Why have we grouped these two together, you may ask? Well, we need calcium for strong and healthy bones; but did you know it can also help the body release hormones, which is particularly crucial during your luteal phase to relieve premenstrual symptoms? The juices below contain plant-derived calcium and can also alleviate premenstrual symptoms, so there are two supplements you don't need to restock. Here’s how:
Muscle Mylk: Almonds, Purified Water, Banana, Medjool Dates, Maca Powder, Nutmeg, Chia Seeds, Cinnamon
Almonds and nutmeg provide calcium in this calming Nut Mylk. Meanwhile, maca may help balance oestrogen and testosterone levels to alleviate some of the physical and emotional symptoms of PMS.
Mind Mylk: Cashews, Purified Water, Medjool Dates, Banana, Cacao Powder, Nutmeg, Chia Seeds
Cashews and nutmeg give you your calcium intake, whilst the magnesium in cacao can help relax muscles and ease menstrual cramping. Cacao also contains anandamide, known as "the bliss molecule", which can help alleviate PMT discomfort (and make you feel way better than a sugar binge).
Sunrise: Orange, Pineapple, Grapefruit, Ginger, Turmeric.
It’s a surprising one; but did you know that oranges contain the highest levels of calcium of all fruits? And don’t forget that turmeric, ginger and pineapple have the powerful effect of alleviating cramps. Alongside getting your vitamin C, Sunrise could be your new supplement saviour.
4. Zinc
You may be supplementing with zinc for your immune system, growth & development (during pregnancy, childhood and adolescence), to improve your skin and acne concerns, or for your metabolism. Here are some of our juices that contain the highest levels of this magical mineral:
Burleigh Green: Kale, Spinach, Celery, Cucumber, Lettuce, Parsley, Mint

6. B Vitamins and hair, skin, nail and eye supplements
You may supplement with B vitamins, biotin, or hair, skin, nail and eye supplements for energy, red blood cell production, brain function, boosting the immune system, eye health or to improve the condition of your hair, skin and nails. Here’s how The Cleanse Kitchen juices can do the same for you (step aside, expensive multivitamins).

Nutmeg is a great source of antioxidants for clear, glowing skin too.
Dawn Patrol: Orange, Carrot, Ginger, Turmeric

Orange contains vitamin C which is great for glowy skin; ginger is great for your immune system; and turmeric is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial for soothing acne.
Daily Green: Apple, Spinach, Lettuce, Celery, Cucumber, Lime, Lemon, Mint
